Rachel Bilson in Jumper

I had a quick chat last night with Rachel Bilson, formerly of The O.C. but soon to be seen in a sci-fi adventure film, Jumper with Hayden Christensen, whom she may or may not be dating (you can see them both in the movie's trailer below). It was evening in the east but late afternoon in L.A. and Rachel, 26, was driving to pick up her sister - a kindergartner - at school. "My dad remarried and they have two little ones," she explained (her second sibling is 1). She adores them, no surprise, and says she knows she'd really like to have children one day but she's not ready yet. She has no desire to be part of Hollywood's latest trend - having a baby. Bilson got to travel to make the movie and among the places it was shot was Rome. She describe shooting scenes in the Coliseum as the sun came up before the tourists arrive as one of those moments where you recognize that life doesn't get much better.
Looks like Rachel Bilson is going to have no problem moving out of The O.C. The 25-year-old has replaced Australian beauty Teresa Palmer to star opposite Star Wars hot stuff Hayden Christensen in the movie adaptation of the young adult novel Jumper, a source tells me. The sci-thriller is about a troubled young man who can teleport himself from one place to another. Palmer's rep did not mention the Bilson casting, but told me that her client is no longer with the project because director Doug Liman decided to make the character a wee bit older. "[Palmer] looks more 18, not 25," the rep said. Bilson's casting is fresh off her top-billing debut opposite Zach Braff in The Last Kiss. With Liman's production reportedly costing $100 million, this gig catapults the charming actress to potential blockbuster status. Nice jump, Rachel! Reps for Bilson and Liman did not return calls or emails by deadline.
